3 Foolproof Ways to Relax

3 Foolproof Ways to Relax

We all know how stressful life can get.

Between picking up the kids from X and dropping them off at Y, running what seems like a million errands, managing a household, a job, a business — a plant that you can never seem to keep alive — it seems almost impossible to find the time to take a second for ourselves to just breathe.

Days, weeks, and sometimes months — or longer! — go by without squeezing in a few, well-deserved moments of #metime, and it takes a toll on our bodies and minds more than we realize.

My personal struggles when I became  a new mom and coming out stronger on the other side have taught me that we need to take better care of ourselves and that we need to put ourselves first every now and then because self-care is NOT selfish — it’s essential to our sanity and success.

Need a little R&R inspo to get you going? We’ve put together my three favorite ways to kick back and relax at a moment’s notice.

Pour yourself a cuppa

Tea has long been known as the panacea for all.

Stomach ache? Have some tea.

Terrible cramps? Have some tea.

Awful cold? Have some tea.

Company shows up without notice? Have some tea.

And it’s not a wonder. Whatever the event, whatever your ailment, there’s a tea for that.

One of my absolute FAVORITE ways to relax is with a nice, hot cup of tea (and maybe a great book!) — because no matter where you are, you can always pour yourself a cup of your favorite blend.

A hot cup of tea is like being on the receiving end of a hug from your best friend. It’s always everything you need, exactly when you need it.

A personal favorite of mine is a lemon-ginger combo that is both comforting and invigorating — and loaded with good-for-you vitamins and nutrients.

Mind your mindfulness

Practicing mindfulness on a consistent basis boasts incredible benefits to our mental health, like reducing stress and anxiety, as well as helping to eliminate symptoms of depression and an overall improvement of our general health.

So why doesn’t everyone practice mindfulness on the regular?

It’s dang hard, that’s why!

Forget finding the time to relax  — finding the time to truly zone into ourselves and our surroundings seems next to impossible with everything we have buzzing through our minds at top speed.

Thankfully, technology is here to save the day.

Apps like Headspace and Calm are loaded with guided meditations to help beginners and mindfulness mavens alike tune into their minds and bodies, with series to help you focus, relax, or even catch up on a few much needed ZzZzs.

Starting from scratch is certainly a challenge, but with the technology that’s so readily available to us, there’s no reason we can’t all acquaint ourselves with the tremendous benefits of practicing mindfulness.

Slip into a hot bath

Hey, I couldn’t call myself a maker of luxury bath and beauty products if this didn’t appear somewhere on the list, now, could I?

But that doesn’t make it any less true.

When it comes to logging some quality me time, the bath is always the first place I turn to.

There’s nothing quite like sinking into a tub of hot water to ease tense, tired muscles, and to melt away the stress of a long day.

Toss in the healing powers of plant-based oils and therapeutic grade essential oils that leave your skin and body feeling soft, supple, and rejuvenated, and you’ve got yourself a powerhouse combination that just cannot be beat.

What’s your favorite way to relax at the end of a long week? I want to hear all about it! Follow us on Facebook and Instagram, and join in on the conversation.
